Yesterday, I did a tarot reading for someone where one of the messages came through the Empress: to nourish the creative self through the sensual self, to let sensuality be the avenue through which creativity is tended to, accessed, stoked.

.)There are so many avenues to deeper access to the creative self.
One I’ve been thinking about is play.
Play is practice in curiosity cultivation, listening to ourselves and trusting ourselves, releasing expectations, orienting toward the process, releasing judgment, and having fun.
“Art is for everyone and painting is for everyone...whether we want or we don’t want to make a career out of it. It’s just an amazing tool we have at our disposal to play,” Carolina Arevalo shared on my podcast a few years ago.
When we orient towards creativity and art-making in the way Caro describes, we are orienting towards process and away from outcomes.
We let the experience of making the thing be the thing itself.
